Various ramblings
June 24, 2025

We're in the middle of a heatwave and it is disgustingly, offensively hot outside! Yesterday it was 95. Luckily we have air conditioning, but it's so hot out I don't even want to leave the house.

No big developments in my life. I did go to Funspot last week, and I plan to make a post about that at some point. I've been playing The Sims, if you couldn't tell. I'm still applying to places and still hearing nothing. Later, I'm going to do the most fun thing I can think of, which is WEED EDIBLES!!!!!!

Should I watch Doctor Who? I've been getting recommended a lot of Doctor Who-related shit recently. I'm a little concerned about how long it'll take for me to finish the entire thing, but it has been on the backburner for a while. Maybe I'll do that sometime this year.

This guy has a really fun concept, but do people really want to fuck this thing? How does that work? Also, I notice people keep calling him Mr. Ring-A-Ding, which as far as I can tell is the name of the in-universe fictional character, not the name of the being impersonating him, which is a little annoying to me.
Kinda makes me want to play Cuphead again. I was really big into Cuphead at the beginning of this year. I actually have some Cuphead-related images I need to upload.

My grandfather used to love all kinds of sci-fi stuff, including Doctor Who. Stuff like this makes me realize how much I miss him. :(
I wonder if he would've been excited about AI. I'm not loving it, but I can still appreciate that it's impressive from a technological standpoint, or whatever. It's a little sad that he never got to see it, even if it does kind of objectively suck.

Here's something I've noticed about myself: I can't focus if there's too much noise. It's weird, because that sort of thing never bugged me as a kid. I think that's another thing that sprung up when I was 13.
Tuning it out with music doesn't always work, either. Sometimes I need total silence. That's one of the reasons I should probably go to the library more.

Also, if I want to get better at art, I really have to find a way to defeat the perfectionism demon. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Maybe I won't get high, actually. Or maybe I will. Still pondering that.

I keep thinking about what kind of world we'll live in by the time my generation are all old people. Maybe we won't get to be old people. I should probably stop thinking about this.

Speaking of sci-fi shit, I'm also thinking about rewatching Star Wars at some point, specifically the sequels. I didn't get into Star Wars until I was 16, unlike all the people I know that were basically raised into being Star Wars fans. The Last Jedi came out when I was 14, a year after my grandfather died. My mom would always see the new Star Wars movies with my grandfather, and in his absence she made me come with her instead. I, of course, had no idea what the fuck was going on in these movies because I hadn't watched Star Wars, and in the theaters they were atrociously loud and gave me migraines. I've watched the original films and the prequels a few times now, but usually I do these rewatches in chronological order and I get tired of watching movies by the time I get to the sequels. I also get really pissed off at Kylo Ren and the fact he gets with Rey, which I will never forgive the Star Wars fanbase for allowing to happen.
Controversial opinion: I do think the prequels are a little overhated. There isn't a lot of C-3PO in them so they kinda are shit movies, but I always hear specifically people being pissed off about the CGI and that the movies "look like cartoons". I do generally prefer practical SFX, but to me Star Wars is basically a live-action cartoon, so I don't totally understand the energy? (And I like cartoons.) I also never thought the CGI was that bad, but maybe I wouldn't understand because I'm a zoomer or whatever. I also am a huge fan of all the weird alien gay bars Anakin gets to go to. Okay, I just remembered Watto and they are actually quite shit. But Darth Maul is there for a little bit!
Oh, I never watched the Clone Wars movie. I have been meaning to do that for forever now. It's my understanding that most of the Darth Maul lore that people like is from that movie (though I don't remember if it's considered canon or not).

I need to water my peace lillies! BLOG CONCLUDED!!!
