Lilo & Stitch
June 19, 2025
I was gonna get high tonight, but I decided against it, so Neocities gets more Dallas instead. Yayyy!!!!!
I watched Lilo & Stitch for the first time on the 4th. I never watched a lot of Disney movies in general, and I never watched Lilo & Stitch as a kid specifically because I thought Stitch was gross.
I thought it was a cute movie! I figured I'd share some of my thoughts on it.
- First of all, I love all the weird sci-fi shit in this movie. I like how the lasers are wet. The various background aliens have some pretty fun designs as well.
- They are both voiced by Kevin McDonald, but I can't unhear Tallest Purple whenever Pleakley says anything.
- Why is the little white girl always starting shit with Lilo if she keeps getting her ass beat?
- I like how the truck drivers at the beginning of the movie consecutively run over a weird four-armed thing (which survives) and decide their best bet is to surrender it to a dog pound and move on.
- I like Gantu. I wasn't prepared for how fucking huge he was compared to all of the other characters. He kinda reminds me of Sizz-Lorr a little bit. I don't think they're related in any meaningful way, but they're kinda, like, the same type of character to me, and they're both hot aliens (pelted)
- Cobra Bubbles is also a fun character. It's a little unsatisfying never getting to know how much he really knows. He probably knew from the beginning that Stitch was an alien, because his requirement that Stitch become a "model citizen" doesn't make a lot of sense otherwise. Did he believe when Lilo said the house was being attacked by aliens?
- He also has an unusual format for a set of knuckle tattoos. It's hard to see in the resolution I watched the movie in, but it looks like he has the first four letters of "COBRA" on his right knuckles and the "A" on either his thumb or his left hand. I thought that was mildly interesting
There are some direct-to-video movies and a TV series, which I might end up watching at some point.
I'm not planning on watching the remake, even if I don't pay for it. Based on everything I've heard and seen about it, I can confidently say that it's a shit movie, and I don't really want to watch a shit movie, especially one that's not shit in a funny way.
I thought it was a good movie, though. I would watch it again. That's all
